Use only dialogue or emails …

Today’s writing prompt and my response.

Day one of this week’s challenge!
Use only dialogue or emails to tell a story

‘Your primroses are looking lovely, Miriam.’

‘Thank you, Dorothy. They just popup all over the place, don’t they?’

‘They do, and in some places more than others I find.’

‘Have you started on your veg yet?’

‘Bit early, but I might give the beds a good rake and dig in some compost. It should be nice and rich by now, the stuff that went in last year’s bin.’

‘Lucky you, having two bins. I have to make do with one, given his lordship won’t let me have another. Garden’s too small he says, and he won’t let me have a veg garden at all. Don’t want you breaking your back digging too deep, he says.’

‘Well, Dorothy, that’s all a bit sad. I love my veg garden, and this year I’ve promised myself at least two firsts at the show.’

‘Good for you, Miriam. Beat that old cow who always wins, for a change, right?’

‘Indeed–’

‘Dorothy! Stop jabbering over the fence, will you? A bloke could die of thirst waiting for his afternoon cuppa here.’

‘See you later, Dorothy. Try not to put rat poison in his bloody tea, LOL.’

‘Ha! Chance’d be a fine thing. Catch you later.’
