Rainbow’s Book of Prompts Lily Lawson

Rainbow’s Book of Prompts by Lily Lawson is a must-have for any writer, and writing group.

I pre-ordered this so have the kindle version, but have now bought the paperback. Two in fact – one for myself and one for my writing group.

Lily Lawson has worked very hard, with good effect, to provide a resource to stimulate our writer brains. This is not simply a list of words, phrases and sentences. Lily has mixed things up with a variety of prompt types from single words, three words, quotes from other books, clusters (eg a place, a character, a thing) and so on.

She has also given some tips on how to get the creative process started, highly useful in itself.

I’m keeping my copy on my desk with the aim of a prompt a day – we shall see! The one for the writing group will be used at our monthly creative writing sessions and other similar occasions, and perhaps on our social media page – with all due credit.

Also the cover is gorgeous and brightens the day on its own. Well done, Ms Lawson.
